June 16 at lunchtime! We’ll need some parent volunteers to help serve. Family is welcome, just fill out the form when it comes home to let the lunch room know how many folks to expect. The end-of-the-year BBQ is always fun, so please join us! Contact Lisa Keith at granolagulch@earthlink.net if you can help.
At this time, we do not have a volunteer to steer the Annual Fund next year. We learned so much during our first year that we expect it to be an easier process next time. This will be the primary fund-raising event for next year, so its success will be critically important for continuing to provide buses for field-trips, after-school athletic clubs, family fun nights, teacher support, additional tutoring, and emergency support to Sanislo families in need — not to mention programs like the Seattle Arts & Lectures Writers program that we’ll be bringing to Sanislo next year. Please consider making this incredible contribution to your child’s school — you are needed! Email PTA Co-president Gillian Allen-White (gillian@grandcentralbakery.com) to learn more about organizing the the Annual Fund.
Thank you to all those great parents and staff members who helped determine our 2010-11 PTA budget and confirmed our new PTA board for next year. We are so pleased to welcome to the PTA leadership some new faces: Rosa Pham as our new treasurer, Ivan Miller as our new e-mail blaster, and Sandi Anderson and Lorena Palmer as our new volunteer coordinators.
Please join us for a kite making workshop on Saturday, June 5, at 11a.m. Take Flight is a FREE kite making workshop open to all ages. The final box tops collection for this year is tomorrow, May 28, which will count towards this year’s total. The class with the most box tops collected for the whole year will be in for a treat!
Thanks to everyone who helped make our 11th annual JAT such a fantastic event. The sun graced us during the action and our kids ran/walked their hearts out to to raise a total of $4500. 4th Grader Zach Ellinger-Keith has the distinction of raising the most money two years in a row and won a pair of Wild Waves tickets. Mr. Femiano’s 2nd grade class raised the most money, $840, AND ran the most average laps (K-2), so they’ll celebrate with a pizza and ice cream party. Our 4th grade classes tied for the most average laps (3-5) and won an ice cream party. Thanks again to all who helped and especially to our student runners… you’re the BEST! One more thank-you to Angie Erdman, who coordinated the event — Thanks, Angie, for all your hard work.
We are so grateful to the support from Touratech USA, Grand Central Bakery and Tibbetts United Methodist Church for Sanislo’s Science Fair. Thank you! Your help with loaning tables and transportation saved us a few hundred dollars that can go towards more exciting things for our kids than rental fees.
Good News from PTA co-pres, Gillian Allen-White: “Thank you to all those great parents and staff members who helped determine our PTA budget for next year and confirmed our new PTA board for next year!
