PTA Information

Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! I hope that everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. It’s hard to imagine but we are now off to another successful school year. Sanislo is so fortunate to have a community of dedicated and wonderful teachers, staff, parents and students. It is partially through the efforts of the PTA that we provide an exceptional learning environment for our children.

Your involvement in and support of Sanislo PTA may prove to be one of the best investments you can make in your child’s education. In addition to helping fulfill the day-to-day needs of our school, Sanislo PTA also helps to foster, develop, and support many of the extraordinary programs and activities that make Sanislo a truly exceptional educational experience. These programs include after school clubs, family fun nights, multi-ethnic potluck and art-walk! The PTA is also responsible for funding field trips, buses, and shortfalls of staffing because of state budget cuts. This year alone, we have sustained a loss of over $80,000 from our school budget. Unfortunately these numbers will continue to rise.

It is through fund raising and community outreach that we make these programs possible. There are many volunteer opportunities that need your support. I hope that you will be able to join our community and help build a more enriching and supportive environment for our children. Our first PTA meeting will be held on September 19, 2008 at 6:30PM in the school library. We do provide childcare, so feel free to bring the little ones along.
