PTA Meeting Update

The first PTA meeting of the year was great! Over 40 Sanislo parents and teachers discussed several items including enrollment, WASL scores, parking, sports, and clubs. Debbie Nelsen introduced Principal Intern Cindy Vielbig, who will be “shadowing” Principal Nelsen through the 2008/09 school year. Volunteer coordinators Lisa Brody and Lisa Keith put sign-up sheets in the hallway so parents can see (and sign up for!) all the different volunteering opportunities we have. Fundraising efforts are off to a great start: Sherry Bay-Santiago will head up Sally Foster sales, and our auction coordinators (Sherry, Gillian Allen-White and Julie Robinson-Jasper) are already on board. Guest Jen Cole of Feet First/Go! project received a round of applause for her accomplishments towards our students’ safety (see New Sidewalks at Sanislo). Jen also announced her newest pedestrian safety project. More details on this October event coming soon.
