Jog-A-Thon
It’s almost time for the 13th Annual Jog-A-Thon fundraiser on Thursday, May 24th. This is a high energy and fun event at which our students, staff and parent volunteers...
We’re off to a great start this year! The first few days were as smooth as could be and the students quickly became accustomed to their new classrooms. We have an exciting year ahead as we begin the year with our NEW VISION: Sanislo is a learning community dedicated to building respectful and responsible citizens and enabling ALL learners. The creation of this vision really provided a great opportunity for the staff to discuss in depth what we valued as educators, both for ourselves and our children. Students are beginning to learn our vision and how it relates to what they are learning and doing every day, and you’ll be hearing more about it as the year continues.
School Arrival Time: Please note that students should not be arriving at school prior to 8:40 when breakfast begins. If they aren’t eating breakfast, they actually don’t even need to be here until 8:50 when the first bell rings.
Grounds Clean-up this Saturday: Flip the newsletter
over to read how you can help beautify the school grounds. Make a difference, and meet other Sanislo families!
Highly Qualified Teachers: The No Child Left Behind Act requires that all teachers who teach in schools receiving federal funds (we are a Title 1 school), meet the federal definition of “highly qualified”. As a parent you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your students. In the first day packet was a letter from Carla Santorno informing you of those rights and how you can obtain more information if you are interested.
Spirit Assembly: We had our first assembly last Friday. We welcomed our new staff and students, celebrated birthdays for the month of September and discussed some building expectations and rules. Our monthly spirit assemblies are the first Friday of each month at 2:15.
We encourage you to join us!
