From Your Principal – November 1st

Support Sanislo

Curriculum Night was a great success! We saw many of you here, eager to learn what was ahead for your child(ren). Teachers spent a great deal of time preparing for the evening and we hope you left with a better understanding of the curriculum plan for the year. November 13 to 20 we will be holding individual parent/teacher conferences, providing you with an opportunity to talk specifically about your own child’s progress and level of growth. More information will be provided prior to the actual conferences.
On October 12 the staff revisited the new before-school schedule. It was nearly unanimous that the additional time the later entry allowed them has been extremely helpful with their planning and preparation for the day. Although many parents have adjusted their drop-off time to between 8:50 and 8:57, we still had concerns about the students who did arrive before 8:50, whether by car or bus, on rainy days. We decided that on the rainy days all students may enter at 8:40, and those not eating breakfast will be able to wait in the Performance Center. We acknowledge that the new schedule has been sort of a cultural shift this year, and appreciate your understanding and patience while we all get used to the change.
