Support Sanislo

Everyday Mathematics reflects the state and national goals for mathematics and includes some of the following features: • A curriculum that explores mathematical content beyond basic arithmetic • A problem-solving approach based on everyday situations • Frequent, varied practice of basic skill • An instructional approach that revisits concepts regularly • An emphasis on communication and teamwork • A commitment to home/school partnerships This program is one that will help prepare our children for the future and enable them to achieve at high levels. Teachers are working rigorously to learn and implement this new program, and students are focusing on learning the new routines, vocabulary, and structure of the program. As with any large new initiative or change, there is an adjustment period and I’m very proud and thrilled by the dedication the school staff have demonstrated over the last month…. Once we have a coach working with us we will also schedule a math night that will provide you with more detailed information.
